Komax – World leader
in wire processing and automated assembly systems
Founded in 1991 and
operating in Portugal since January 1992, Komax Portuguesa is
chronologically
the second branch Office of Komax group founded in 1975 with headquarters in Dierikon/Lucern Switzerland,
is today one of the leaders in wire processing and automated assembly systems.
Komax
offers its clients a comprehensive selection of products ranging from cutting and stripping machines
to the fully automated production of complete wire harnesses.
With the
acquisition of ARA (Applied Robotics and Automation), Sibos AG, Sibos Ascor Inc. and Sibos Prime Inc.
(sophisticated automated manufacturing and assembly systems), Komax has further expanded its business
activities in the area of automated wire harness production and automated assembly systems.
Komax
group has, further to the production plant in Portugal, plants in Switzerland, United States and France,
as well as a worldwide distribution and sales network supported by subsidiaries or agents qualified
to provide services, training, maintenance and production support, in order to meet our clients specific
needs.
Since 1993 Komax Portuguesa is the production centre for cutting
and stripping machines (CC), guaranteeing groups responsibility for assembling of the K 40 T machines
and later on of the Gamma 311 and Gamma 333. Until now more than 1250 machines have already been placed
on the world market.
In addition to that responsibility Komax searches
to consolidate its position near the customers operating in Portugal, keeping a structure meant for
support and customer service, as well as delivery and maintenance logistics.
Actually
a Komax Portuguesa employs 30 of the 750 group employees and reported in 2002 about 14 million euros,
nearly 10% of the total consolidated group value
